As with anything in golf, it depends. Swing weight is ultimately dictated by length, grip and shaft selection. A longer club will always be heavier, a midsize grip will always make it lighter, etc. You can get a 130x and a 85 gram Regular both to D2, but they are wildly different. It's all about how a player reacts to that shaft loading and unloading, and it's feel, not the swing weight.
IF you have a preferred swing weight, we can, within reason, meet that upon request. If you do not, please trust us to build the set to a realistic number based on your configuration that we believe is the most playable.
-
Examples:
A 1" long x100 can't come out to D2, and a 1/2" short 105 stiff can't come out to D5. We would simply approach this as, "let's try and get the long set as light as we can" or "let's try and get this short light shaft up as close to D1-D2 as possible.
A midsize grip will reduce swing weight by an average of 3 points.
Increased swing weight will affect shaft performance. The softer the flex, the more impact it will have.
